On 10 January 2024, the DIAGONAL consortium, along with NMBP-15 and -16 sister projects, attended a workshop on the TRAAC framework organized by Brimatech for DIAGONAL. The TRAAC framework supports the improvement of regulatory acceptance and wider usability of tools and methods for safe innovation and sustainability of manufactured nanomaterials.
This particular workshop focused on the “Uptake and Bioaccumulation of Nanomaterials Model” developed by partner WUR. The workshop aimed to evaluate the regulatory readiness of this model, identify its strengths, gaps, opportunities and challenges, and discuss further development needs. After an introduction to the TRAAC Framework by Neeraj Shandilya (TNO), Nico van den Brink (WUR) presented WURs model. Then Neeraj Shandilya carried out the evaluation of the WUR-model together with the DIAGONAL team using the 5 TRAAC pillars.
