The safety and sustainability of chemicals and materials and their applications are a cornerstone of current EU policy and industrial strategies.Frameworks and criteria for practical implementation of SSBD approaches have been published by the OECD, European Commission, andindustrial actors, such as CEFIC. These will increasingly become premium aspects to access funding and contracts and are a prerequisite todeveloping products aiming to fulfil sustainable development goals.
The workshop, organized within the NanoInnovation Conference, will showcase experiences and activities at the European level on the development of advanced materials and nano-enabled materials following the Safe and Sustainable by Design approaches developed within 5 EU-funded Research projects: ASINA, SABYDOMA, SABYNA, SBD4nano and Repoxyble.
The Workshop will focus on: Strategies for deployment and exploitation of methods, processes, and products developed by EU-funded projects will be discussed with R&I players and industrial stakeholders:
* Case studies and exploitable results from ASINA, with special focus on the cosmetics and textile sectors
* Experiences of industry applications from Sabyna, SBD4Nano and Sabydoma
* Foreseen activities from Repoxyble
* Special focus on regulation
The whole event will take place in two sessions:
Session 1 (9.00-10.30): Criteria and essential elements for a SSBD approach in industrial processes.
Session 2 (11.00-13.00): Industrial application in cosmetics, textile and other sectors.
Location: Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University, Via Eudossiana, 18 – 00184 Rome (Italy)
